Class Schedule

Our normal weekly class schedule in MCJROTC is listed below.  We may adjust the schedule when special guest speakers or events arise throughout the school year.  Our event schedule will be listed on our website at: www.hornlakemcjrotc.org

About the Instructor

Education

I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at American Military University and Master of Science degree at Florida State University.

Experience

The 2023-24 academic school year will be my ninth year with the MCJROTC Program at Horn Lake High School.

Bio

I completed recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina in 1992 and served in infantry, administration, and intelligence military occupational specialties over the course of 21 years on active duty. I was appointed as a warrant officer in 2008 and commissioned a chief warrant officer in 2009. I retired from active service in 2014 and have been teaching at Horn Lake High School since the 2015-16 school year.

 

Supply List

The MCJROTC here at HLHS provides your cadet with uniforms to support their participation in our program free of charge.  Your cadet is responsible for the care of issued government property, and will be held financially responsible for damage due to neglect or loss.  Normal wear and tear will be replaced at no cost to the cadet. 

 

We work hard at fundraising to support our events and trips throughout the year.  Some events may require a small fee or cost share for attendance.  If this is the case, the cost information will be included in the event permission form that is sent home with your cadet for signature.

 

The only supplies that we require for participation in this program are:

  • Pencil and/or pen (black ink only)
  • Loose leaf paper and/or notebook
  • Folder with pockets
  • School issued laptop
  • Microsoft Outlook account (school provided)
  • Small ruler (w/ inches scale)
  • Running shoes with white socks
  • Water source (sealable)
  • Hair products/items to maintain JROTC grooming standards
  • JROTC issued uniforms and accessories
