Education
After graduating from Central High School in Memphis, TN, I attended The University of Memphis where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching with a major in Instruction, Curriculum, and Leadership for Secondary Education.
Future plans include obtaining an Educational Doctorate in Adolescent Psychology or Administration and Leadership.
One day, I hope to work in district as a literacy coach. After I retire in 21 years, I hope to work for a consulting firm for school improvement companies such as High Schools That Work, SREB, or Kagan.

Experience
From 2009-2014, I taught senior and then junior English at Wooddale High School for Memphis/Shelby County Schools.

In 2014, I made a change and moved to Southaven Middle School where I worked for 4 years as an 8th grade ELA teacher, including serving as the ART Club Sponsor, an Interact Club Sponsor, and a member of the Susnshine Fund Committee.
The 2019-2020 school year is my 2nd at Horn Lake Middle School, still as an 8th grade ELA teacher. This marks my 11th year as an educator overall and is my 6th year here in DCS.

Bio
A native of Memphis, Tn, I currently live in Dosoto County - THE LAKE! - and LOVE being a part of this amazing community! I am very excited to be an English Language Arts teacher at HLMS for eighth grade and I look forward to a very successful year for us all!
This is my second year at The Lake and I am thankful to have the opportunity to teach such a fabulous group of students, to work with outstanding parents, and to have an amazing faculty.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to go camping, swimming, riding my horses, exercising, and riding my motorcycle. Truly, I love anything outdoors :)
