Hello, my name is Christianna Van Hooreweghe, but I go by Ms. Van. Welcome to my page! I am excited for this school year! I will be teaching Gifted 9th & 10th grade English and English I and II. 

I attended the University of Mississippi, receiving a B.A. in Secondary English Education. 

I love teaching English and helping students develop real-world skills that will help them succeed in life. Nothing makes me happier than seeing students accomplish their goals and create their own amazing futures. I am excited for another great school year!

Study Sync:
Portions of the course curriculum for English class comes from McGraw Hill's Study Sync and can be reached via the DCS Clever portal. Choose the red McGraw Hill application icon located on your Clever home page. Instructions for what to complete will be found in schoology.

For my class, you will need:

• Three Ring Binder (with loose leaf paper) OR 3 subject notebook with storage pockets

• Pencils

• Sticky Notes

• Two small poster boards (1 per grading period). You will not need these during the first week of school. I will give advance notice of when to bring these to school.

Optional:

• Highlighters (for personal use)

• Tissues (for class donation)

• Hand Sanitizer (for class donation)
